Shawn's Virtual Table Tops
Shawn's Virtual Table Tops
Hi. I'm Shawn. I run a lot of tabletop RPG sessions.
For years I've run them in generic virtual tabletops — the ones everyone uses. And for years I've had the same experience: the VTT doesn't know anything about the game I'm running. It's a blank canvas that I have to configure, customize, and maintain. Every time I switch systems, I start over.
I finally got tired of it.
ShawnsVTTs is my answer. Not a generic platform. Not a configurable toolkit. A purpose-built VTT for each game system I run.
The first two are Stars Without Number and GrimDelve (for the Shadowdark RPG). More will follow — but slowly, and only when I can build them right.
What "Built Right" Means
For Stars Without Number: the sector map is the campaign hub. Faction turns are first-class. Starship combat has a bridge interface. You don't configure these — they exist because the game has them.
For GrimDelve: light management is built in. Torches count down. Crawl turns are tracked. The mishap table is one click away. The interface reflects the dungeon-crawl structure of the game.
For both: players are always free. The GM subscribes. Sessions are for playing, not for IT work.
Why Patreon?
Early access through Patreon lets me build in public, get real feedback from real tables, and fund the infrastructure without ads or VC money. If this builds into something, I'll keep it here. If it doesn't, no one lost much.
Welcome. Let's play some games.
