Patreon Sign-In, Player Invites, and Multi-Game, Done Right

Three big things shipped this week.

Patreon Sign-In

You can now sign in to ShawnsVTTs using your Patreon account. If you're a subscriber, your subscription status is verified automatically at sign-in. If you're on the free tier, you get your one free campaign per VTT.

Why Patreon? Because most of the early access community is already on Patreon, and asking people to create yet another account creates friction that kills trial conversion. One click, one account, you're in.

Player Invites via Shareable Link

Players no longer need a Patreon account to join a game. When the GM creates a campaign, they get a shareable invite link. Players click it, create a free account with an email address, and they're in the session.

Players never pay. Players never need a subscription. The GM's subscription covers the table.

Multi-Game Architecture

This one takes a minute to explain.

ShawnsVTTs isn't a single VTT with a settings menu. Each game system is its own VTT, built for that system's rules. Stars Without Number is built around sectors, factions, and starships. GrimDelve is built around light, crawl turns, and dungeon danger. These aren't skins on a generic system — they're separate tools that share an auth layer and subscription management.

When you sign in, you land on a launcher that shows all VTTs your subscription covers. You pick one and you're in that VTT's environment.

This is the right architecture for the long term. A single generic VTT makes compromises for every game system. Separate VTTs let each one be exactly right for its system.
